Maggie McIntosh, Delegate, 43rd Legislative District

Serving Baltimore City’s 43rd Legislative District

Friends:

Welcome to my official website where you can find information about me, my work as Chair of the House Environmental Matters Committee, the 43rd Legislative District and the Delegate Scholarship Program. The Legislative Session is always a busy and exciting time and 2012 should prove no exception. In the Environmental Matters Committee we will consider hundreds of bills ranging in subject from smart growth to water quality and the health of the Chesapeake Bay to protecting children from exposure to lead paint.

This session I will be lead sponsor or cosponsor on a number of important pieces of legislation. Especially important to me is Marriage Equality, which I am optimistic will finally pass this session. This legislation will be a big step in ensuring that gay and lesbian couples and their families are treated equally to their fellow Marylanders under the law. I will also be lead sponsor on bills responding to recent court decisions relating to ground rents and protecting children from lead paint. To find out more about these bills and the other bills I am cosponsoring or sponsoring this session, please click on the “Legislation” tab above.

This session I am also making a greater commitment to keeping you informed about what is happening in Annapolis. In addition to this website you can keep in contact with me via Facebook or Twitter by clicking the buttons on the right of this page. There, you will find short, timely updates on my work and the great things happening around the 43rd District.

I’m excited to get started and look forward to continuing to serve the people of the 43rd District. As always, please share your thoughts and concerns on any legislation of importance to you and feel free to contact me or my staff about any constituent service matters you would like me to look in to.
